• Still one of the best selling ATV's in Canada. Since 1998 Yamaha's Grizzly has dominated the ATV food chain. With industry exclusives like the Ultramatic Transmission, On-Command 4-wheel drive system, 4 wheel disc brakes and Electric Power Steering (EPS), this 2009 Yamaha Grizzly 700 FI EPS Camo AP HD is the benchmark that others are measured by. Now available in the Realtree AP HD camouflage.
• While the current industry trends are leading to large, lumbering behemoths, Yamaha has chosen a higher trail.
• The Grizzly 700 FI concept focuses on lightweight handling and lightening response.
• From the compact Raptor based EFI engine to the Yamaha EPS (Electronic Power Steering) system, every fiber of this new bear has been created to outperform all others with less effort and more control than you ever thought possible. With a host of features designed to improve agility, terrain-ability and ride comfort, the Grizzly 700 FI EPS raises the bar yet again for 4 wheel drive ATVs.
Highlights:
• Raptor based 686cc fuel injected engine.
• Electronic Power Steering (EPS)
• 4-wheel disc brakes
Features and Benefits:
• The Grizzly 700 is powered by a fuel injected 686cc 4-stroke engine derived from the class leading Raptor 700R. It is fuel injected for easy starting and crisp throttle response, but has been re-worked for even more low-end torque to match this bear's personality.
• With EPS we've been able to dramatically reduce steering effort, especially in 4WD. At the same time, EPS helps isolate you the rider from external forces acting on the front wheels. This means you can worry less about what the terrain looks like, and focus on enjoying the ride. Did we mention it's speed and torque sensitive? EPS could be the single most important improvement to your off road experience in decades!
• reduces steering effort in all situations, helping to reduce rider fatigue while enhancing rider confidence and ease of operation
• speed and torque sensitive
• improves stability on virtually all types of terrain at a wide range of speeds
• helps isolate the rider from external feedback from obstacles that come in contact with the front wheels.
• Increased power is nothing if it comes with a bunch of additional weight. Considering the Grizzly 700 can be as much as 150 lbs lighter than the competitors 800's, this bear's power to weight ratio offers some hefty advantages over some of the bigger and bulkier ATVs. Less weight has an effect on everything from handling and acceleration to hill climbing and mud prowess. Imagine if you will adding six or seven cinder blocks to the racks of this Grizzly, and you get the idea of how heavy some of those 800's are!
• Slowing your big-bore ATV down shouldn't involve standing on the brake pedal while squeezing the lever with all your might. 4-wheel disc brakes combined with full-time engine braking means slowing this Grizzly down requires less effort. And since the front and rear brakes can be operated independently, you have more control over how you brake depending on the situation.
• Push-button servo-controlled "On-Command" system allows you to switch between 2WD, limited-slip 4WD and fully locked differential 4WD - all with the simple push of a dash mounted button. Real 4-wheel drive when you need it. With Diff-lock engaged, there's no need to wait for one wheel to spin. You have traction to all 4 wheels, immediately. This puts you in total control... you decide when you need 4 wheel drive... the machine doesn't decide for you.
• Revolutionary Ultramatic™ fully automatic transmission is the first automatic transmission to feature true engine braking. All four wheels receive engine braking in 4WD mode. Dual-range transmission with reverse. Low range has approximately 1.5 times the pulling power of high range.
• A full tank of fuel carries a lot of weight with it. So we located the tank under the seat and the airbox up high where the tank used to be. This lowers the center of gravity which improves handling, stability and hill climbing capability. But it also raises the airbox reducing the chance of water and debris from getting into the engine.
• High mounted airbox, V-belt intake and exhaust ducts, reduce the opportunity for water and debris to enter the V-Belt housing.
• The wheel center does not change but allows for a shorter frame which improves approach/departure angles, and allows the use of stronger ball joints (more clearance)
• Roller bearing rocker arms for reduced friction and improved engine performance
• Carburized Chrome-Moly connecting rod for improved durability
• Airbox design has centrifugal debris trap to improve air flow
• Flat type foam air filter for easy cleaning
• Straight drive shaft layout for reduced vibration and improved durability
• Gull-wing front a-arms for improved ground clearance
• Air cushion seat to provide comfort on those long rides.
• Floor boardwith large holes for mud evacuation, and special rugs to avoid buildup from underneath.
• Water resistant storage
• Centralize wiring layout, positioned for improved protection against the elements.
• LCD Gauge includes Odometer, Trip 1, Trip 2, Clock, Fuel gauge and Gear position
• Warning indicators: Engine, Water Temp., Reverse, Neutral, Parking, High Range, Low Range and LCD Drive / Differential Lock map .
• 35W Halogen headlight bulbs
• Neodymium hi-power magnet for improved output, charging capacity and light weight.
• Forged Aluminum steering knuckle
• Gate type transmission shifter for improved shift feel.
• Cartridge type oil filter located to the front of the engine for improved cooling and simplified maintenance
• Carburized Chrome-Moly connecting rod for improved durability
