2012 Yamaha TT-R50E Review

• Push button electric start and three-speed automatic transmission make this a great bike for learning.
• Turns rug rats into trail rats.
• Nothing makes learning more fun that a 2012 Yamaha TT-R50E. Chalk it up to the push button starter, monocross rear suspension and three-speed automatic clutch transmission and more.
• Our littlest Yamaha TT-R boasts big Yamaha YZ styling, four-stroke power, a three-speed automatic clutch gearbox - even push-button electric starting. Go ahead, play in the dirt.
• For the younger, smaller off-road fanatic in your family, look no further than the user-friendly TT-R50E.
• The 49cc four-stroke engine feeds power through a three-speed semi-automatic transmission, great for learning and playing. It's got the style of a big YZ, but low enough for the little guys to climb aboard with a seat that's only 555mm (21.9") above the ground. Once they're going, you'll be glad to know, the TT-R50E is equipped with front and rear drum brakes to deliver strong, dependable stopping power. Like all Yamaha's, TT-R's are packed full of leading-edge engineering and stand up to our stringent standards for reliability. They're built to last. The only thing we can't do is stop your little ones from out growing them! But we've got their next Yamaha waiting when that happens.

2012 Yamaha TT-R50E Features and Benefits

KEY POINTS
• 49cc, 4-stroke power
• Convenient Electric Starting
• Throttle Stop Screw

1. The TT-R50E gets the same pushbutton electric starting feature as our full line of electric-start TT-Rs.
2. Great for learning and/or playing, complete with 49cc of four-stroke fun feeding power through a three-speed automatic-clutch transmission.
3. Big YZ styling meets little people’s stature; the seat’s only 21.8 inches from the dirt.
4. Inverted fork and Monocross® rear end provide great handling.
5. Large chain cover for maximum protection and minimal maintenance.

ENGINE
• Air-cooled, 49.5cc, SOHC, 2-valve, 4-stroke powerplant produces smooth, reliable novice friendly power that eases the new rider up the learning curve.
• Convenient, push-button electric starting makes starting a snap and takes one of the hassles out of learning how to ride.
• Compact engine cases keep the engine narrow, making it easier for a smaller rider to get their feet firmly on the ground.
• Lightweight crankshaft design means crisp throttle response.
• The cylinder uses a conventional cast iron liner which means the engine can be overbored. The benefit is reduced costs in the event of a problem, plus the unit can be bored for adult pit bike use.
• Valve design features a special "carbon cutter" valve stem which helps to prevent the build up of carbon on the stem, which could cause a valve to stick. This is an important feature when a unit will be operated at sustained low speed and low rpms. Valve adjustments are via rocker arms for ease of maintenance.
• Automatic ratchet-type cam chain adjuster reduces maintenance, extends engine life and reduces mechanical noise.
• Mikuni VM11 carburetor ensures crisp throttle response and great fuel economy. It also features an electric carb heater for reduced engine warm-up time and faster cold starting (heater doesn't function above 16 degrees C or warmer). Carburetor features "Electroless" nickel plating applied to valve seat and nickel silver needle valve to counter act the negative effects of E10 (10% ethanol) fuels.
• Washable foam air filter reduces maintenance costs.
• Smooth-shifting, 3-speed transmission with automatic centrifugal clutch eases the beginner into the basics of shifting, without the complications of a hand operated clutch. The auto clutch means all the rider does is shift the foot pedal … there is no clutching involved.
• Transmission ratios have been designed to compliment the engine's power band.
• CDI ignition system delivers a hot, reliable spark, sure starts and requires no maintenance.
• Centrifugal oil filtering system is basically an automatic system that requires no maintenance.
• Lightweight, upswept exhaust system features numerous heat shields to protect young riders for hot components. This exhaust system produces a quiet exhaust note which will keep the neighbors happy. A cleanable screen-type spark arrestor protects Mother Nature from stray sparks.

CHASSIS / SUSPENSION
• Rugged "mini-size" steel back bone type frame provides rugged durability whether being ridden by a child or an adult. The engine mounts to the frame at three points, making the entire chassis more rigid for superior handling.
• Triangulated steel tube swingarm is both rugged and rigid.
• Inverted 22mm Showa front fork offers a class leading 96mm (3.8") of wheel travel providing confidence-inspiring control over rough terrain. The lower fork legs feature rugged plastic protectors that help to protect the fork legs from stone chips.
• Monocross single shock rear suspension with 71mm (2.8") of wheel travel delivers progressive suspension performance to smooth out rough trails.
• Low 556mm (21.9") seat height provides a handling-enhancing lower centre of gravity and allows most riders to put both feet firmly on the ground for added confidence.
• Long, motocross-style seat is low, comfortable and allows easy rider movements.
• Front and rear 80mm drum brakes deliver strong dependable stopping power. The brake design and components are the same front and rear.
• 2.50x10 front and rear knobby tires feature a 4 ply design, and offer superb traction in the dirt.
• 135mm (5.3") of ground clearance allows the TT-R50E to tackle modest obstacles.

DETAILS
• Rugged YZ-inspired plastic body components resist damage in the event of a tip-over. This design gives the TT-R50E that big YZ look while also creating a narrow profile for easy rider movements.
• Key operated, handlebar mounted ignition switch prevents joy rides when an adult supervisor is not present.
• Rugged YZ style handlebar features a re-enforcing cross bar for extra strength and a foam pad to protect the rider. YZ style grips give that big bike feel.
• Special sealed battery design is low-maintenance and prevents leakage even during a tip-over.
• Serrated steel folding footpegs provide excellent footing even in wet or muddy conditions.
• Convenient handlebar mounted paddle-style choke lever is easily accessible.
• On/off/reserve fuel petcock

SAFETY ITEMS
• Throttle stop screw allows parents or adult supervisor to control the top speed of the TT-R50E by restricting how far the throttle can be opened.
• Exhaust heat shields protect young riders from hot components
• Foam handlebar pad
• Keyed ignition allows parents to control use
• Upper and lower chain guards

IMPORTANT NOTE: Adult supervision and proper protective riding gear, including a helmet and eye protection are a must when a youngster is operating a TT-R50E.

Let's Talk Torquey
Finesse is good, brute strength is often even better. That’s when you bust out the 660R Raptor.

Its big 660cc, liquid-cooled, five-valve SOHC engine starts laying down thick power right off idle and doesn’t let up until 9,000 rpm – the kind of instant power that gets you out of tight corners and up gnarly hills with authority.

The rest of the 660R Raptor is also built to thrive on abuse -

= New for 2005 - YFZ footpegs
= New for 2005 - Convenient parking brake
= Long-travel, adjustable suspension
= Strong yet lightweight frame

A comfortable YZ-style seat is up for aggressive riding or all-day cruising, while reverse and electric starting also conserve energy during those long days kicking trail.

The 2005 Special-Edition model adds a sportier, more menacing edge with a silver frame, dark grey bodywork with grey camo accents.

But we’re just getting warmed up here, so why don’t you visit the Features & Benefits page to get a closer look at the Raptor 660's list of incredible features.

The 660R Raptor. The competition just became extinct.

2011 Yamaha Vino 50 / Vino Classic 50 model Features

• Fuel Consumption * 47kpl/132mpg(Imp)
• Clean and efficient 4-stroke power
• Under seat storage

ENGINE

• Peppy, 49cc, liquid-cooled (with fan assist), SOHC, 3-valve, 4-stroke engine puts out lively, predictable power with incredible gas mileage. The design concept of this engine is peppy performance with low noise, low emissions, and low fuel consumption.
• Fuel consumption of 47 kpl or 132 mpg. Your actual consumption may vary.
• Easy, dependable electric starting with backup kick starter.
• The cylinder features a ceramic composite coating which insures uniform heat dissipation, reduced friction and an extended service life.
• Three valve cylinder head design utilizes two intake valves (15.5mm) and one exhaust valve (16.5mm). The dual intake valves allow more fuel and oxygen to enter the engine for increased power output.
• Special "carbon cutter" valve design removes any carbon build-up on the valve stem to keep the engine operating at maximum efficiency, especially when the unit is being ridden at slow speed for prolonged periods of time.
• Roller rocker arms are used to actuate the valves. The roller rockers reduce friction and mechanical noise to a minimum for a quiet, enjoyable ride. Valve adjustment is via shims.
• Liquid-cooling with fan assist is used to maintain stable engine temperatures even during stop and go city riding. Liquid-cooling allows for a higher state of tune for increased engine performance. The radiator is positioned longiitually in the frame next to the engine.
• Crankcase sump-type oil delivery system is utilized. A special centrifugal oil filtering system is used. This type of oil "filter" automatically removes any particles found in the oil and never requires cleaning or maintenance.
• Keihin NCV18 carburetor features a throttle position sensor (TPS) that is linked to the ignition system to provide crisp throttle response. The TPS system monitors the throttle opening and sends the info to the CDI to provide the optimum ignition timing for great performance. Other TPS benefits include increased fuel economy and reduced emissions.
• Easy access, paper-type air filter is used. Total air box capacity is 2.0 liters for excellent performance and reduced intake noise.
• Automatic choke means no choke to fuss with and makes cold starting a snap.
• Fully automatic, V-belt centrifugal transmission ensures easy, twist-the-throttle-and-go operation. There is no clutch or gear shifting to worry about. A wide range reduction ratio is used for peppy performance.
• Maintenance-free CDI system with 2-D mapping provides a precise, high-voltage spark for fast starts and crisp engine performance at all rpms.
• Air induction system (AIS) is used to reduce harmful exhaust emissions. The AIS system injects oxygen into the exhaust port area to ensure complete fuel combustion, thereby reducing both hydrocarbon (HC) and carbon monoxide (CO) emissions.
• Exhaust system and muffler produce a very quiet environmentally friendly exhaust note. The muffler features a catalytic coating to further reduce harmful exhaust emissions.

CHASSIS/SUSPENSION

• Rugged, step-through, underbone-style, steel-tube frame design provides stable, predictable handling. The step-through design means it is very easy to get on and off the Vino.
• 26mm front fork provides a comfortable around town ride. Wheel travel is 65mm (2.6").
• Single-shock rear suspension provides a plush, comfortable ride. Wheel travel is 55mm (2.2").
• Front and rear 110mm drum brakes supply strong, reliable stopping power. They are hand operated, for ease of use …. just like on a bicycle !
• Rugged yet lightweight, die cast aluminum 5-spoke mag style wheels are fitted with 10" tubeless tires.
• Comfortable "saddle-type" single seat ensures excellent rider comfort and adds unmistakable style.
• Super convenient, large, 20 liter locking, under seat storage compartment can easily hold a full-face helmet or other items like a small briefcase or purse. Maximum capacity is 5 kilograms
• Large 4.5 liter fuel tank means lots and lots of kilometers between fill-ups. Locking fuel cap provides peace of mind.
• 35/35-watt multi-cut lens headlight maximizes nighttime visibility and enhances retro styling. The headlight and turn signals are chromed for an added styling highlight.
• Full-size floorboards and wide, stylish front apron provide excellent splash and wind protection and highlights that retro European styling.
• Eye catching, chromed speedometer assembly features an integrated electric fuel gauge. Large size digits are very easy to read. Other functions include high beam indicator light, turn signal indicator lights and coolant temperature warning light.
• Ultra convenient, key operated main ignition switch serves a number of purposes. Not only does it control the ignition, but is also opens the seat (including helmet storage), and locks the steering
• Unique "G-Lock" anti-theft rear wheel locking system. There is a small lever beside the ignition switch that when moved to the lock position, not only prevents the rear wheel from turning but also slides a cover over the key slot of the ignition switch. It is similar to shifting the transmission on an automatic car into park.

2012 Yamaha FZ1 Features and Benefits

ENGINE
Ultra-lightweight 998cc, DOHC, 20-valve, liquid-cooled, 40 degree inclined, in-line four-cylinder engine. The engine has been tuned to provide outstanding performance and excellent passing performance.

The crankcases, pistons, cylinder and cylinder head are based on the 3rd generation R1 powerplant ('04 to '06).

Combustion chamber design and squish area has been optimized for maximum sports performance. The compression ratio for the FZ1 is 11.5:1. Redline is set at 12,000 rpm and features a "soft" rev limiter to protect the engine.

Special lightweight, high lift, high performance intake and exhaust cams help to provide incredible horsepower and fast engine response. Cam profiles and the cam timing are designed to provide for more low to midrange power (Vs R1) .

Automatic cam chain tensioner reduces both maintenance and mechanical engine noise.

Lightweight, 3rd generation R1 based crankshaft provides quick engine response.

Connecting rods are carburized for strength and durability and use a nutless design. The lower end "cap" of the rod is made from the same piece of material as the upper portion, this design is known as "fracture splitting". This design aids in establishing true big end roundness and greater precision in con rod dimensions for great durability.

Closed deck cylinder design allows the cylinders to be spaced more closely together, allowing a narrower engine. The cylinder block is a stand-alone part. The benefit if this design is improved sealing, and easier serviceability.

Ceramic composite plated cylinder "bores" are a "liner less" design with the ceramic coating sprayed directly on the aluminum block to ensure great heat dissipation for consistent power delivery, reduced friction and reduced weight.

Short skirt, lightweight forged pistons reduce mechanical vibration and improve throttle response.

3rd generation R1 inspired "stacked" 3-axis gearbox / clutch design stacks input/output shafts to create a low center of gravity and keeps overall engine size shorter front to back. As a result, the stacked design gives the engineers the freedom to place the engine in the frame for optimum front to rear weight balance and thereby maximizing handling

Smooth shifting 6-speed transmission features optimized gear ratios for maximum performance in the "real world". 5th and 6th ratios are wider (taller) for reduced engine rpms at highway speeds for more relaxed cruising.

Compact, heavy duty, multi-plate clutch ensures consistent, positive engagement and uses coil springs (5) and paper based fiber plates (9) to reduce weight.

Mikuni fuel injection system is based on the 2006 R1 design, featuring 45mm throttle bodies fitted with T.P.S. (Throttle Position Sensor). This style of fuel injection uses dual throttle valves. The secondary or sub throttle valves are motor driven and control the intake air volume for optimum throttle response.

The actual injectors are Denso "long nose" type injectors with a high dynamic range and 4-spray holes for excellent power and response across the entire rev range.

Specially designed 8.2-liter air box with intake air temperature sensor maximizes performance. A viscous paper-type air filter is utilized.

The fuel injection's lightweight Electronic Control Unit (ECU) utilizes a powerful 32-bit processor for faster control of the injection process. The compact design also reduces weight.

Yamaha's patented Exhaust Ultimate Power Valve (EXUP) monitors engine rpm and adjusts exhaust flow for maximum performance at all rpms with no flat spots. This system also optimizes fuel economy and reduces emissions.

4 into 2 into 1 exhaust system features stainless steel exhaust pipes and a short design silencer / muffler. The header pipe length has been optimized for maximum power delivery. This system is fitted with two 3-way honeycomb catalyziers with an oxygen sensor to reduce harmful CO and HC exhaust emissions.

High-efficiency curved radiator features compact dual ring-type fans for maximum cooling efficiency. This rad and fan design produces more airflow than conventional flat design rads to maintain optimum engine temperatures for consistent power output. The curved design also allows a shorter wheelbase.

Large, liquid-cooled oil cooler maintains stable lubricant temperatures for extended engine life. Convenient spin-off oil filter is used.

Convenient clutch cover sightglass ensures easy oil level inspection.

Maintenance-free transistor-controlled ignition ensures great performance at all rpms.

Air Induction System (AIS … not ram air) reduces harmful HC and CO exhaust emissions for a cleaner environment.

CHASSIS / SUSPENSION
Die cast lightweight aluminum twin spar frame provides an optimized rigidity balance for incredible sports handling. The engine is a stressed member of the chassis, allowing a lighter main frame design without sacrificing stability and light, agile handling qualities.

The riding position which is one of the most important features of the FZ1, it offers a balance between a sporty riding position and great rider comfort.

Key chassis geometry figures include: 51% front and 49 % rear weight balance, 25 degrees of rake and 109 mm of trail. The 47 degree lean angle highlights the FZ1 sporty side.

Lightweight, detachable rear sub frame allows easy access to rear suspension components and reduces costs in the event of a "loop-out".

C.F. (Controlled Filling) die cast truss-type rear swingarm offers great rear wheel control and traction for razor-sharp cornering and superb stability at speed. The long 629mm arm helps to minimize the effect of "chain tensioning" on the bike's handling.

43mm Kayaba inverted cartridge style fork is fully adjustable and offers 130mm (5.1") of wheel travel. This fork features independent damping adjustments for compression and rebound via a one way port that separates the two functions. Adjustments include: 9-way spring preload, 26-way compression damping and 26-way rebound damping. The adjustable design allows the rider to tailor suspension settings to match rider weight and road /track conditions to maximize handling and suspension performance.

Lightweight aluminum upper triple clamp features a 25mm offset for sportier handling.

Link-type Monocross rear suspension features an adjustable Kayaba shock that allows the rider to tailor suspension settings to match load and road conditions. Adjustments include 7 - way spring preload, and 12-way rebound damping. Rear wheel travel is 130mm or 5.1"

320mm dual front discs are squeezed by ultra rigid R6 inspired monoblock, 4-piston calipers which provide outstanding stopping power and lever feedback. The master cylinder utilizes 16mm piston for outstanding stopping power with less lever effort.

245mm rear disc is squeezed by a lightweight single piston slide-type Nissin caliper with sintered metal brake pads.

Lightweight cast-aluminum 5-spoke wheels reduce unsprung weight for great handling characteristics. The front wheel is an MT3.50-17 and is fitted with competition-spec 120/70-ZR17 tire, while the rear wheel is a MT6.00-17 fitted with a wide 190/50-ZR17 rear radial.

Eye catching, half fairing offers surprisingly good wind and weather protection. It features R1 inspired dual "cat eye" halogen headlights.

Conventional handlebar design features a more upright positioning for maximum everyday comfort. Handlebar is mounted above the top triple clamp.

18-liter fuel tank offers a slim design with great knee grip. The reserve portion of the tank is 3.4 litres.

Separate rider and passenger seats offers exceptional solo or two-up comfort.

One-piece instrumentation features analog tachometer, digital speedometer, dual tripmeters, fuel gauge, clock and new outside air temperature display. The back lighting on the instrument can be adjusted to suit the rider's preference.
