2012 Yamaha Raptor 700R SE Review
There is no substitute
From the dunes to the trails, the 2012 Yamaha Raptor 700R SE is the undisputed big bore sport ATV performance leader. Featuring a fuel-injected 686cc, fully adjustable piggyback shocks, exclusive hybrid steel and aluminum frame, digital instrumentation and more.

We dare you to find a bigger wallop in a meaner package than the Raptor 700R.
Powered by our most potent big-bore Raptor engine ever—686cc of liquid-cooled fuel-injected power—this one will get your undivided attention. Maybe even more impressive is how sweet it is to ride: A thick comfortable seat, adjustable suspension, dual counterbalancers, electric starting and reverse keep things nice and civilized. The Raptor 700R Special Edition features all the same great characteristics as it's Raptor 700R brother, but comes with extras like Pro Armor Nerf Bars, Pro Armor Bumper, Pro Armor Radiator Cover , plus special graphics and colours. Big, broad power. Light weight. Precise handling. Yamaha reliability. That's the Yamaha advantage.

Key Features:
A 686cc Yamaha fuel-injected engine makes this the most powerful Yamaha sport ATV ever, with big torque right off idle, transitioning into a fat mid-range and monstrous top end.
Yamaha Fuel Injection (YFI) means consistently excellent engine performance in a wide range of conditions, elevations and temperatures.Reliable pushbutton electric start in any gear adds extra convenience.
Race-bred five-speed transmission with reverse, along with Raptor 700R's monstrous powerband, means there's a choice of gears in just about all situations.
Hybrid steel and aluminum frame with a Controlled-Fill aluminum sub frame and cast aluminum swingarm combine to produce a super-strong structure and the lightest ATV in its class.Long-travel suspension system features fully adjustable piggyback shocks with high- and low-speed compression damping for superior handling; rear shock adjusts for preload, rebound and compression damping.
YFZ-inspired twin-aluminum-piston front disc brakes and rear disc deliver tremendous stopping power with less unsprung weight. The popular toggle link-type parking brake lever with an auto-adjust feature keeps maintenance to a minimum.Light, aluminum wheels mean less unsprung weight for great suspension action, and custom Dunlop radials provide maximum traction.
Keep track of all systems with the trick and rugged LCD digital instrument meter: speed, rpm, coolant temp, etc.—it's all there.
YFZ-spec 45mm serrated foot pegs provide excellent boot traction
Krypton headlights set back in the front cowl add awesome sporting accent
LED taillight provides great visibility
Front brake master cylinder features an adjustable lever for increased comfort and feel
Cast aluminum swingarm carries an eccentric quick-adjust drive chain mechanism that takes most of the work out of that task
Aggressive styling reflects Raptor 700R's intent, and YFZ-inspired handling means it walks the walk, too.
Long-travel suspension—9.1 inches front, 10.1 rear—a cushy seat and excellent ergonomics make the Raptor 700R comfortable to ride hard all day long.
